Investment Insights – November 2025
We’re pleased to share the latest edition of our Investment Insights report, designed to keep you informed on the trends shaping markets and portfolios.
This month’s key takeaways:
- Asia rebound: Emerging markets rallied on positive trade news. The South Korean share market rose about 20% and Taiwan 10%. The ASX200 was mostly flat, with miners and energy up, while healthcare and tech were weaker.
- Rates and inflation: The US Federal Reserve cut rates by 0.25%. In Australia, inflation rose to 3.2% and unemployment 4.5%, so no local cut is expected before Christmas.
- Earnings momentum: 84% of US companies beat earnings estimates last quarter, well above the 10-year average of 75%.
- The evolution of work: Around 60% of today’s jobs did not exist in 1940. Economies adapt, roles evolve or fade, and new opportunities emerge.
The next few months are seasonally strong for shares, but expect some volatility as inflation and jobs data guide interest rate decisions.
